“You Are Enough” – Des Moines Gay Men’s Chorus Springtime Show

“Join the Des Moines Gay Men’s Chorus for their spring concert, “You Are Enough,” including the premiere of a new commissioned choral work “Sanctuary” by New York-based songwriter, Ben Wexler. The concert will also feature “You Are Enough: A Mental Health Suite” written to advocate for, and elevate conversations about, mental health awareness.”

If you’re feeling artsy, check out this amazing “Immersive” art exhibit at the Des Moines Art Center. This’ll be the Art Center like you’ve never seen it before. “Instead of moving through traditional gallery spaces, one will follow a path from darkened space to darkened space, each filled with light, color, and sound.” The exhibit opens this weekend and takes a page from the “immersive” art trend that’s growing, like the Van Gogh experience that’s coming to Des Moines later this year. Des Moines writer and professor, Carol Spaulding-Kruse, will lead the conversation with Samantha on her book “The Family Chao”.  Samantha will read and sign copies – feel free to read the book ahead of time for fun discussion (though it’s not required).
