Experience the Garden in a new light at Dome After Dark! It’s honestly very pretty and a great date idea. Most Fridays from now through the end of March, stroll through the lush conservatory and Gardeners Show House illuminated with unique lighting and luminarias. This family friendly event will include food and drink available for purchase from Trellis Café. Normal admission rates apply!

Ok, maybe you’re a pro skier and snowboarder and this is ridiculous to you. But to us, complete novices in our late twenties? This is actually doable…and kind of fun! Drive north to Seven Oaks for a fun day of skiing, snowboarding, or snow tubing. Snow tubing tickets must be purchased online. Ski/snowboard tickets are first come, first serve. They serve food and some beer in the lodge! Hit up Whatcha Smokin’ for amazing BBQ on the way back to Des Moines.

Fire and Ice Valley Junction Pub Crawl

CITYVIEW is bringing a pub crawl to the Valley Junction if you’re brave enough to face the frigid temperatures in between bouncing into these pubs. For what it’s worth, it’s some of the best places to grab one in the city. We especially love Winchester Public House.

Wooly’s Presents Fool House The Ultimate 90’s Dance Party

If you are going to leave the house, this sounds like a fun night to dance it out at Wooly’s with favs like *NSYNC and Britney throwbacks. Fool House describes itself as a LIVE musical event paying homage to the golden era of boy bands, pop stars, hip hop, and pop punk. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Crochet babes, this one’s for you! Meet with the DSM Crochet Club this Sunday morning for some hangs, crochet, and ofc delicious coffee from Friedrich’s (or tea if that’s more your style). Bring along any current or starting projects from coasters to sweaters- and meet people in the area who also share a love for crochet.
