“Lovesick Comedy” + “Kareem In Your Face” at Teehee’s Comedy Club

There are two shows this Friday night at Teehee’s. First up is “Lovesick Comedy.” This show is for the lovesick, the people sick of love, and everything in between. Watch as stand-up comedians do their set about love and other things, then the improvisers will do their thing based off the set. Closing out the night is, “Kareem In Your Face” hosted by Ali Kareem.  Ali is featuring new, up-and-coming comedians along with a headliner. The theater is set up for social distancing, so plenty of room for laughter.

Downtown Farmers’ Market

It’s backkkkkk! The Downtown Farmers’ Market returns for its 2021 season with a modified, but in-person market. The scaled-back Market will focus on providing only fresh produce and farm and artisan packaged food from local vendors to the community in a safe, socially-distanced way. They’re estimating 110 vendors on site, which is about half of the number at a traditional Saturday market. We’ll take it!

Heart of Des Moines Farmers’ Market

  • 2-4 p.m.

Two women on a mission to bring health food to the River Bend neighborhood? Monika and Crystal are doing the damn thing. We’re all in and we hope you’re with us. This market will run every Saturday starting May 1- September 25 from 2-4 p.m.  There will be vendors, food trucks, a health tent, kid-friendly activities, and entertainment. We’re in the process of writing an article ALL about natural wine. While that is being finalized, go fall in love with The Cave DSM, a natural wine shop/bar, on Saturday during their tasting!
